Monterosso, How to get there

Coming from the west, Monterosso al mare is the first village of the famed Ligurian coast called the Cinque Terre.
The best way to arrive is by TRAIN, either from Genoa or La Spezia. Several hundreds of tourists, from many different countries, arrive at the central railway station every day. You may also arrive by SEA as there are several ferries that connect the villages of the Cinque Terre with La Spezia, Lerici and Porto Venere every day.
It is also easy to arrive by CAR, using the A12 motorway, exit at Brugnato and follow instructions for about 20 kilometres. For those coming from Genoa it is possible to exit at Levanto and follow directions for Monterosso.
For non residents there are two parking lots, one in Loreto (ideal for access to the historic center) and one in Fegina.
The best way to arrive, and highly memorable as well, is to trek the scenic paths of the National Park of the Cinque Terre or the scenic paths along the jagged cliffs that connect all five villages. (please consult the chapter dedicated to the trekking paths for further information)
